My Story

Creating Connection Through Hairdressing

I’ve been a professional teacher for the past seventeen years but felt a growing desire to explore something new. Hairdressing had always intrigued me, so I enrolled in an adult hairdressing course at City of Bristol College. I began my journey unsure as to what direction it would take, armed with enthusiasm and curiosity I was pleasantly surprised to find that I absolutely love hairdressing! I completed the course with distinction and this year I am back at college completing my level three qualification.

I view hairdressing as an art form—a way to elevate self-worth while creating meaningful connections. With a deep passion for helping others feel their best I decided to set up as a mobile hairdresser as well as creating a salon space in my home. My space is homely and informal, I offer lower priced salon services because it is not like a ‘normal’ salon. The salon space is set up to make you feel comfortable and at ease, I have two cats who appear from time to time, the salon is by the garden at the back of my house and (for now) the hair washing facilities are upstairs in my bathroom.

In addition to my skills as a hairdresser, my extensive experience as a teacher enables me to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of individual needs. My goal is to offer a welcoming and safe space where every client feels comfortable. I have particular expertise working with neurodivergent individuals and those with mental health conditions, which allows me to offer a uniquely supportive and accommodating experience—especially for those who might find conventional salon settings overwhelming.
